Our remodeling experts were contacted by existing Wallingford clients who were interested in adding a room addition of a mudroom to their home for a laundry room and a small bathroom as well as a deck to replace the existing one.
Drawings were were completed by a local architect and pricing compiled and presented to the homeowners in the fall, accepted, and construction began at the beginning of the new year.
Thankfully the weather didn't stop our foundation contractor from digging and pouring the foundation for the project! From there it was on to framing and roofing to get the crew inside. Once there, the electrician and plumber handled their rough in portion of the project while the crew headed back outside to install the Cedar Impressions 7" Granite grey siding. Local building department inspections are scheduled in to the time line schedule so there's little down time while waiting for an inspection.
The size of the bathroom called for some creativity! It has a 42"x36" shower base with tiled walls and a Toto wall-mount sink and Toto toilet. The homeowners provided the tile for the shower walls and bathroom floor.
The laundry area contains a wash sink in a Fabuwood Galaxy cabinet with a Pecan finish. Side panels for the washer and dryer finish the look and it's topped with a piece of Kalahari granite.
The flooring is 3-1/2" select curly red oak supplied by a Connecticut wood products company that cuts their own wood! The homeowner also purchased a beautiful piece of wood for the bench seat in the room.
Completing the project was the new mahogany deck with Azek Railing.
