This homeowner called us because she was interested in remodeling her kitchen and removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room.
Our Wallingford remodeling contractors met with her and brought our kitchen designer from Bender Showrooms/New Haven. During our meeting, it was determined she had a chimney that was no longer in use that could be removed to enlarge the space. We also discussed removing a closet in the dining room which would open it to the living room and created a nice flow to the new space.
As part of our remodel process, after she approved her layout we sent her to Bender Showrooms to meet again with the kitchen designer to select her cabinets. She chose Fabuwood cabinets with the Galaxy door style in Frost and the island in Galaxy Nickel. She selected her granite at Bender and decided on Azul Platino with a 1/2" bullnose edge as well as her fixtures.
We also send our clients to North Haven Ceramic Tile for any tile or flooring selections. They have a great selection of products and a knowledgeable staff. With their help, she selected a 2"x4" Calcatta white polished tile with a blue glass and stone 5/8"x5/8" mosaic for the backsplash.
The project got underway in early November and everyone received a detailed project schedule in advance. The homeowner also provides information on outlet cover colors, paint colors, any pet containment requirements and where we can put the dumpster and portable toilet! We like to have it all worked out before we start.
