These Wallingford homeowners were referred to Bencar Building Systems by their neighbor who is our client.
They have a deck on top of their garage at the back of their home. They have a beautiful view but the deck has southern exposure and it is very hot in sunny weather. Even with an awning, it was not enjoyable for them to use.
Because of the nature of the project, we worked with a local architect, David Wenchell, to come up with the design and construction drawings
Once the design was set, we worked with the homeowners on the decking color and the type of railings. They selected Rocky Harbor for the decking and Key-Link textured black Chesapeake Series cable railing system with a "deck board" top to rest plates or drinks on the railing. In addition, recessed lights were added along with a ceiling fan/light.
With this roof over their deck, they can enjoy the outdoors for a more extended period of time during the year - even in rainy weather!
