This beautiful family room addition in Durham, Connecticut came to us through one of our favorite ways to connect with new clients, referrals. These homeowners were introduced to Bencar Building Systems by their neighbors, for whom we had previously completed a bedroom suite addition. We enjoy room additions that give homeowners optional living space.
Working closely with one of our trusted architectural partners, we developed a design that seamlessly expanded the home’s living space while maintaining its existing character. Once plans were finalized, we coordinated and provided detailed project costs for all components, including the foundation, electrical, HVAC, and hardwood flooring.
The scope of work extended beyond the main family room addition. We also constructed a deck that connects the new space to the pool area below, creating a natural flow for entertaining and everyday living. In addition, the walk-out basement was transformed into a finished hobby area, complete with sheetrock and fresh paint, adding even more functional space for the homeowners to enjoy.
After construction was complete, Design House Interiors, an interior design firm we collaborate with, worked directly with the homeowners to bring the space to life with furnishings that reflect their style and how they live.
Projects like this are a great example of what can happen when a strong team, including homeowners, architect, builder, and designer, comes together with a shared vision.
